Scotia Wind recognises that sensible wind farm development can bring substantial benefits to the local community and would like to make a meaningful and appropriate contribution to the local area. To achieve this, Scotia Wind actively promotes sustainable community engagement models such as community trust funds, share schemes or turbine co-development. The development team is happy and willing to engage in positive dialogue with local stakeholders and community councils regarding the benefits and suitability of each model.

Scotia Wind also recognises the value and knowledge that can be gained by working with other community groups and independent organisations that have direct experience of developing community benefits from wind energy. Such organisations can and do provide invaluable support to communities when deciding which engagement model to adopt.
